Pardon my transgressions
Today, we received some very bad news. Since then, I have been thinking a lot about it. My thoughts range from defending this person, to judging them, being angry with them and with others involved, making excuses for the others involved, etc. But when it comes down to it, it’s not my place to do any of those things. I’m just as much of a sinner as this person. And while, it seems, my sins aren’t as big, they are still sins. And just because his sins were put out in the open for everyone to see doesn’t give me the right to judge.
Tonight my prayers are with this man, his family, and all those affected. But mostly, my prayers are to help me (and others) to not gossip about him, not judge him, and not stop looking for the chance to love the sinner behind the sin.
