Katie's prayer: MercyMe's "Hold Fast"

All we want is to be free
Free from our captivity Lord
Here He comes

So the end of the world is supposedly tomorrow. Sorry, part one of the end of the world. I read something recently that clarified it... the believers will be taken up to Heaven tomorrow and the rest of the world will face tornados, earthquakes, and other natural disasters which will lead to the real end of the world on October 21. All of this nonsense has been in the news a lot recently and given me time to put much thought to it (despite efforts to try not to). My argument since the time I heard it has been Jesus’ own words of “no one will know the hour.” Therefore, any kind of date given will be wrong. So it seems kinda pointless to me for these people to go around claiming to know the date of the end of the world. And even more pointless for people to believe them. I mean, he’s predicted the end before and been wrong before.

A friend of mine had a status on facebook today that said “calm down people, the world is not going to end tomorrow”. My first thought was “well why not”. I’m not saying the world is going to end tomorrow, but I’m also saying that we don’t know it’s not. With God’s sense of humor, it might just be! (: The only way to live, then, is like every day is the last day. So while I doubt tomorrow is the end of the world (or rather when believers are taken to Heaven), I’m going to treat it like it’s the last day.
