Katie's prayer: The Elms' "Hey, Hey"

I have listened to this song so many times that it’s in my 100 of most played songs. But there is one thing that I don’t like about it - something I’ve never liked about it. What is this “it” they keep referring to? You can have it, you can find it, you can buy it, but you can’t take it, and you can’t fake it. What is it?! From the first moment I heard the song to now, 140+ plays later, I still have no idea what this song is about.

But you know, isn’t that what life’s like sometimes? So often I can feel God moving in my life, and I can tell that He’s trying to tell me something - but it never makes sense to me. And no matter how much I think about it, I still have no idea what He’s trying to say. And even when I do know what He’s saying, I don’t understand it.

Dear Jesus, tonight, I’m praying for clarity. There were a lot of thoughts running through my head today. Please help me to see which of those thoughts are from You - and what it actually means for me and my life. Amen.
