I'm so thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
At first, I didn't really care for this phrase. Being thankful for being incapable? That just seems silly. But then I started thinking of the implications that went along with this phrase. I realized that all good acts come through God, so it only makes sense to say that I cannot do them on my own. And since I am incapable of doing good on my own, that must mean there is a God, which I am very thankful for!
So I guess the phrase does make sense, and actually, I like it. It's a gentle reminder that I am not the center of everything. It's a reminder that I need to be less self-centered and more focused on God and on others.
