You know I ran across an old box of letters …It is always interesting to look back on things I've written in the past and compare that, either intentionally or just subconciously, with where I am in my life at this point. Whether that be something I wrote in a journal, on my blog, or, now that I've been doing this awhile, here on this site.
I had to laugh at the same old struggles
That plagued me then are plaguing me still
One year ago today, I wrote of not always feeling comfortable praying in front of other people, particularly spontaneously. The words never seemed to come out as eloquently as I would have liked. The song that night reminded me that it isn't what I do that is important, but what God does through me that is.
That sentiment, and that I still struggle sometimes when praying in front of others, is something I am reminded of tonight. Tonight's chorus says, I am thankful that I'm incapable of doing any good on my own. Once again, God is telling me that it isn't what I can accomplish, but what He can accomplish through me that is.
