Katie's prayer: Jars of Clay's "Sinking"

(my Internet crashed and I had no other way of posting these. But I still wrote them and thus still wanted to post them)

Tonight I was at a bible study. Near the end, the guy leading it was talking about a retreat he was a leader on. The one night they would discuss their sins and downfalls. The next night, they would discuss Jesus and the cross and how Jesus died for our sins. He was talking abou how after that night, he asked one of the kids his thoughts. The kid replied, "I didn't ask him to do that for me."

I feel like this song kinda touches on that. How sometimes we don't ask God for things, but we get them anyway. God knows what we need and gives it to us. And as I was thinking about that, I realized God gave me a lot today that I never asked for. I got help with planning dates for youth events. I heard words of kindness from the people in the bible study. They prayed over me at the end, and so many of the things they said just seemed to resonate in my life right now. At one point I almost wanted to cry because the dude talking had no idea how much what he was saying was true for my life rigth now. And right as I was thinking that, he said something like 'and not many people know it.' freaky God moment. But anyways... Point of prayer: God is willing and able to give you whatever you need, you just have to be willing to accept it.
