Katie's prayer: Chris Tomlin's "Let God Arise"

And the church will stand, she will endure

It has been a very busy two weeks! I feel like it’d be really easy to pray about what I’ve been going through these past two weeks (Totus Tuus training and Edge Camp). But the second I heard this lyric, I knew my prayers were needed elsewhere. You see, there’s also been a lot of things going on with the Church these past two weeks. Transgressions of priests in our diocese have been brought to light. Mistakes have been made by those in charge. The media is not helping the situation at all. And just when you think you’ve heard everything, another piece of news will come out and make things worse. I believe (and I pray) that it’s over and we can begin to recuperate from these tragedies. But part of me knows it isn’t the end. There are ongoing investigations. Four to six weeks from now, the results of those investigations will come out - good or bad news. There will be a trial, probably be completely in the media the entire time. But like tonight’s song states, the Church will stand, she will endure. Other places have survived similar tragedies, we will survive as well.
