Who'll be with me every day?
Hear me every time I pray?
Teach me how to live His way?
I believe God can, yeah
I believe God can.
Really, this is such a no-brainer song. I mean, God can do whatever the heck God wants to do! I totally believe that. But as I was listening to this song, it hit me. Yes, God can do whatever He wants - but so can I. God’s going to be with me throughout the day, every day - but am I going recognize that presence or ignore it? God’s going to hear me pray - but am I actually going to take the time to pray? God can give me clues on how to live like He wants me to - but am I going to follow them? It’s the blessing and the curse of free will. Cause the truth - I always want to do those things, but it doesn’t always happen. Sometimes I sin (and thus push God aside). Sometimes I don’t pray. Sometimes I decide my way of living is much better than whatever God has for me. The goal then becomes to turn these “sometimes” into “rarely” and continue to strive for “never” (Being an imperfect person, I don’t think I could ever reach never, but it is something to strive for).
Dear Jesus, help me to turn those sometimes into rarely. I believe You can.
