Katie's prayer: Audio Adrenaline's "All Around Me"

I see You everywhere

For those of you that don’t know, I’m in the Kansas City area. And, again, if you didn’t know, we got the start of a cold front coming through yesterday. Today’s weather, it might as well have been winter again. When I left this morning (at 10 am) it was still in the 30’s. Probably never got above mid 40’s all day. I had to pull out my winter coat, turn on the heat. There’s apparently snow in the forecast for this weekend. It sucks. I hate it. What happened to that nice spring weather we were having? What happened to being able to wear flip flops and skirts again? What happened to sitting by an open window reading? I’ll say it again - I hate it. I hate cold. And I wasn’t quiet about this fact with anyone I spoke with today. I complained about it any chance I got.

Then I got to praying to tonight’s song. A song talking about seeing the beauty of God all around. Doesn’t say the beauty of God during the spring time. Doesn’t say the beauty of God during nice weather. God’s beauty is all around all the time. And today, I neglected to see that because I was so focused on my discomfort of the temperature. Tomorrow, I’m going to do better to not complain about this horrible weather we’re having, but rather to remark on the beauty of God around me.
