Katie's prayer: Veggie Tales' "The Fib Grows/The Water Tower"

I haven’t yet seen this episode of Veggie Tales, but I’ve listened to the music enough to know the basis of the story. Jr. Asparagus lies about breaking a plate. Throughout the story, his lie keeps growing and growing. At the end of this song, we hear him cry out “I did it! I broke the plate!”

Yesterday, I attended our parish penance service. It also happened to be the First Reconciliation for our 2nd graders. I can’t explain how uplifting it was to be with those kids. They were so excited and nervous. One little girl kept going through the steps on what to do and what to say. The majority of them wanted to go with Fr. Charles. Another little girl was in line for Fr. Charles, then realized another priest was completely open, she practically ran to the confessional from excitement. The excitement from these kids allowed me to get excited about confession as well. I was lucky enough to be able to go to confession after fulfilling my duty with the 2nd graders. I got the chance to go to God and say, “I did it!” And you know, wasn’t all that bad. One of my better ones actually. I think I’m starting to like confession better and better.
