Katie's prayer: Newsong's "You are Holy"

I remember the first time I heard this song. It was at an Encounter. The song leader introduced this song to everyone that night. It started off pretty easy, just repeat him. Then the chorus came. Confused me, confused those that I was with, confused pretty much everyone in the room. Eventually we all got it. And at some point, I began to not only know it, but love it. I just wish it were an easier song so people would sing it all the time.

I’m reminded of a quote from A League of Their Own... “It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everybody would do it. It's the hard that makes it great.” I have that quote to help remind me of the greatness of my job. Sometimes, it’s not going to be easy (like this upcoming weekend activities). But that’s exactly why it’s not made for everyone. Only special people could do this. And just like the song, sometimes it takes a little while to get the hang of it, but in the end it’s totally worth it.
