It never really ever crossed my mindMilestones in people's lives always bring about change, and for some people the change is a bad thing. Graduating 8th grade, getting a license, graduating high school, living alone, graduating college, getting a job, etc. I have seen countless people hit these milestones, and for some reason give up their faith at that point. As though God was only important until you can drive, but now there is no time for Him in your life. Or, once you were out of your parents' house, they can't make you go to church, so it's an easy decision to turn your back on God.
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
For me, the idea to "turn my back on God" has never really been a thought in my mind. Although I've hit all the milestones previously mentioned, and have "grown up," my faith isn't something I'm wanting to let go. In fact, the exact opposite is happening. As I become an independent adult, I'm realizing what is really important, and taking the steps to pursue those things. I have never been more dedicated to my faith than I am currently, and that is something I am proud of.
