Katie's prayer: Kirk Franklin's "Lean on Me"

There's a man
Standing on the corner
He has no home
He has no food
And his blue skies are gone
Can't you hear him cryin' out

I would say 95% of the time I’m in my car, I’m listening to K-LOVE, a Christian radio station. I have been doing so for over a year or so. They have this thing called “Make a Difference Monday”. Sending out a challenge to all listeners to make a difference in someone’s life. Then going on their website, or calling in and letting people know about your good deeds. This past Monday, as I was driving home, I heard this story. A woman asked another woman for a ride to the laundromat. The woman of course said yes, and noticing she had 6 big bags full of laundry, she volunteered to give her a ride home. The woman told her she didn’t have a home to go to. So she not only paid for all her laundry, but also for a meal, and 7 nights in a hotel and shared Jesus with her. After dropping her off, she bawled on the way home knowing that if she was Jesus, she would in no way come close to doing what she could/should. Man. I haven’t done anything near that generous on Make a Difference Monday. Or ever really. In fact, now that I’m thinking about it, I haven’t ever participated in Make a Difference Monday beyond listening to all the amazing things other people were doing. That whole clothe the naked, feed the hungry, visit the imprisoned, etc, I fail at doing! Fail! I need to change that.
