Katie's prayer: Matt Maher's "Behold the Lamb of God"

Behold the Lamb of God

Tonight had amazing potential to be one of my favorite Adoration moments. And in a few ways, it met some of that potential. I got to assume my favorite Adoration position (face down - hands up - total surrendering). And I had some amazing conversation with God. There was only one problem - it ended WAY too early. For the 2-2.5 hours I was there, only 30 minutes were dedicated to Adoration. I think this is the one thing that bugs me the most about St. Gabe’s. They spend just as much time doing just straight praise and worship before the talk and after Adoration as they have for Adoration. Don’t get me wrong, I love praise and worship. But what’s so wrong with doing it during Adoration. What’s wrong with opening with only one or two songs, why must you do five or six? What’s wrong with ending on Holy God we praise Thy name? Why do a few more songs at the end? Why can’t we get more Adoration in?! I pray that the team at St. Gabe’s realizes this soon. I hope the next time I see the youth minister, I have the courage and the opportunity to talk to her about this.
