I remember going to Mass perhaps a year or so ago at a parish I don't usually attend. A priest I'm really fond of now pastors there, and every few months, I go and visit him and share Mass with Him. This particular weekend, instead of my priest friend reading the Gospel, the parish deacon took over the duties. The Gospel was about part of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and instead of reading it word for word from the book, the deacon sung this song.
Before that evening, this was already one of my favorite traditional church songs, but that evening, that Mass, just cemented it. I will always remember that Mass and the way the deacon turned something ordinary (well, as ordinary as the Gospel can be) into something unique and extraordinary.
