Is there grace for a wayward heart?
One of the most frequent questions that was discussed in my religion classes in high school, and a question that I still discuss with people today is whether or not good people can go to Heaven even if they haven't accepted Jesus as their Savior. In high school, everyone used to make up these ridiculous scenarios about people who grew up not knowing about God, but still lead great lives... what happened to them when they died?
I want to believe that Heaven isn't just for those who accept Jesus and follow in His steps. While I think this is a surefire way to get to Heaven, I think that there are plenty of other good people out there who may not have accepted Jesus. Even those people who may not be "good," I hope there is a place in Heaven for them. I hope that there is grace for a wayward heart. I can't imagine that there is a single person who has messed up so bad that God decides he is going to send them to hell because He just can't love them anymore.
