God's grace is sufficient in all things. Jesus is constantly reminding him, and remind us that look, you're going to have thorns in your side, there's going to be things you're going to struggle with, there's going to be things that just continue to hound you. You need to cling to the hope that God's grace IS sufficient.
Let me tell you, I have lots of thorns in my side right now, having lots of struggles in my life. The main one is trying to change people's mindset. These teens are so stuck in the old ways of "youth group is a thing that happens twice a year" that they're not making time for it now. Before Christmas break, the average attendance was 2-3 teens per event. But last night, things hit a new low. Last night, the kickoff to the new semester (cause the first kickoff was snowed out), had 1 teen in attendance. I guess you could count her father as well. It was and still is, very depressing.
But God reminded me last night, and is reminding me again today that the most important thing in my life should not be worrying about attendance. Yes that is my job, and yes I should try to fix it, but it's not the most important thing in my life. The most important thing in my life is worrying about and working on my relationship with God. Making sure that God's grace IS enough for me. Not wanting more (like more attendance at youth group events, etc.). I have a feeling this isn't the last time I'll have to remind myself of this fact.
For Your grace is enoughYeah Your grace is enoughFor Your grace is enough for me.For me.
