Megan's prayer: Bebo Norman's "Great Light of the World"

As of tomorrow, I will have posted a prayer on every weekday for an entire year. I had hoped that after a year I would have made some radical changes in my faith life and would be so much closer to God. While I don't think it's been a *radical* change, there has definitely been growth.

Today marked the last day of the semester for me. I turned in my final paper and am done! I posted last year a blog about the last day of the semester. In that post, I talked about how even though finals were over, I realized I had so much left to do to prepare for Christmas. I was still going to be super busy, even though school was done. The lyric of that day was "we’ve got a ways to go."

This year, I'm feeling quite differently about this time of preparation for Christmas. While last year I was running around super busy, this year I really don't have all that much to physically prepare for Christmas. Last year I forgot about my faith until school was out then tried to play catch up with Advent, but this year I have taken the time out each day to prepare for Christmas, despite my school work.

I think I've grown. I think I've matured and have realized what is important. I've come to the understanding that faith isn't something just for when I have time, it is an everyday - a constant - thing. It has become embedded in me much more than it was last year at this time, and I believe that prayanewsong has a lot to do with that.

As I take the time tonight and tomorrow to just sit back and relax, I will continue to prepare for Christmas. I will continue to ask Jesus to fill of my soul.
