Chris' prayer: Jars of Clay's "Jealous Kind"

In Exodus, Chapters 20 and 34, we hear that God is a jealous God. In Zechariah 8, we hear again about God's jealousy. In Nahum, we hear it again- God is a jealous God. It is not something you hear about in many Christian songs, however. In fact, this might be the first time it is even mentioned, let along a song written about it.

Usually, when the word jealous is mentioned, it is done in a negative light. We usually don't look kindly on those that are jealous. But this song almost romanticizes the jealousy that God has for us. He is ever pursuing, despite us having lines full of other loves. He desperately wants to not just be at the front of those lines, but to be the only person in those lines. And no matter what we do, no matter where we go, He is there, wanting to be a part of our lives.
