Today's song ties in extremely well to yesterday, the Solemnity of Christ the King. The idea of Jesus as the "King of all Kings" is not normally the first way that I picture Jesus, but both yesterday and today have made this title stand out above all other ways that I picture Jesus.
While I like this image of Jesus, it is a very hard image for me to relate to. I see kings and royalty as removed from the common and hard to relate to, not the way that I normally picture Jesus. He is my friend. He is there to talk to whenever I need him, which doesn't seem to be a trait of royalty. I guess these past two days have just been a great reminder of how important I am.. I'm so important and loved that a King makes time to be my friend and be there for me whenever I need him.
