Katie's prayer: Shane and Shane's "I Miss You"

I miss you
I miss you
I miss you

The summer of 2008 was one of the best summers I ever experienced. I spent 5 weeks in a tiny town in Georgia with some of the best people in the world. Every week, getting the chance to affect the lives of roughly 200 teens. Daily Mass, once a week Adoration, Liturgy of the Hours in the morning and at night together as a group. Surrounded by about 25-30 strong Catholics around my age. People who truly loved you for who you were. Some of my bestest friends are people I met at that camp. But they all live across the U.S. I got a text from one of them today that just reminded me so much of that awesome time with those awesome people. I came home, started looking through pictures from camp, and remembered.

I really miss those friends. While im, email, facebook, texting and phone calls are nice, they don't even compare to face-to-face time. I also really miss the opportunities I got at camp. Morning and night prayer every day, and Mass, and Adoration, and being surrounded by strong Catholics! We had this joke going about the "real world." Camp was nothing like the "real world." But then again, camp WAS the "real world" because life at camp was how God meant life to be. I miss living in the real world.
