Katie's prayer: Mercy Me's "I Can Only Imagine"

Heaven. It's the only thing no one knows anything about and won't know anything about. That is, until you're dead. And even then, you can't tell anyone about it! But that doesn't stop people (myself included) from imagining it. When I was little, heaven was this place FULL of tiny TV sets. One TV set per living person. God didn't watch them, cause He knows everything. The TV's were for the benefit of the loved ones who have gone before us. They could watch in present time, fast forward, reverse, even hear your thoughts.

As I grew a little older, I realized how silly TV's in heaven sounded. So now, only God knew about the future and past. Everyone else could watch present time, like floating above us. Not seen or heard, but definitely there. Each person had one saint or angel assigned to them - keeping them safe from any unnecessary harm. And when someone died, they were assigned to one of their loved ones. So when a loved one died, it just meant that you had another person looking out for you!

Now, I've come to the conclusion that heaven is less about tying you to earth and more about tying you to God. Sure, the saints and angels are still there and still look over us (I mean how else could I have survived to this point?!) But the majority of their time is spent with God. Dancing, standing, kneeling, singing, being silent, being surrounded with His glory! Forever worshiping God. Although it took many imaginations of heaven (you only got a glimpse), this last one is my favorite, and the one I hope is true. I cannot wait to forever worship Him.

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
