Megan's prayer: Cheer Up Charlie's "Love"

Let your actions speak louder than words
And they will be heard
And overflowing with love.

I love hearing the words "I love you." Honestly, it may be the best combination of three words in the English language (besides "free ice cream"). I believed for a long time that relationships were not "solid" unless those words had been exchanged. And then I started dating Chris. These words weren't said... for quite a while.

After three or four months, a friend of mine asked if me and Chris had said "I love you" yet. When I told her we hadn't, she seemed shocked. She asked if things were wrong, what we were waiting for, if the relationship was really serious - she wanted to know if it bothered me that we hadn't said it.

At first, the conversation kinda took me by surprise. I knew that I was in a great relationship, that things were going perfectly, but maybe my friend had a point.. Maybe the absence of those words were pointing to something. But then in the next instance, I knew that the words weren't the important thing. I knew that I was loved, not because of the words, but because of his actions. Those were, and still are, more important than anything.

Seeing the importance of actions, over words, had helped me in my faith. Saying I am Catholic, and showing that I am Catholic, are different things. I'm working a lot harder on showing, rather than just saying.
