Chris' prayer: Burlap to Cashmere's "Basic Instructions"

There is something to be said about simplicity. Getting straight to the point without beating around the bush can help people focus on what is most important. The first line of this song reads Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, which you might recognize as being a backronym for Bible. From here, Steven Delopoulos lays out what he believes is the Bible, boiled down to its essence, in very few words.

It reminds me of a post on a blog I follow, ThinkChristian.net. The author asked some Christian bloggers, and then the audience, to tell the story of the Gospels in just 10 words. What an incredibly tough task, I thought, but some of the answers were pretty amazing. (I'll let you check 'em out for yourself.) I really liked the idea, though, of condensing something, even the Gospels, down to its most basic form.

I feel like I've let a lot of things in my life get too complicated. Work is stressful all of a sudden, it is tough a lot of times for me to blog every night, church stuff can be difficult at times. I think I need to just get back to the basics and hopefully that will lead to more enjoyment on my part.
