On my own these wings won't fly
Yesterday, I took my 4 year old cousin kayaking. She was in the front, "paddling." She didn't want me to be paddling in the back - she wanted to do it on her own. As much as I respected her independence, I knew we wouldn't get anywhere if she was the only one rowing.
It was a hard lesson for me to learn, but I finally realized I can't do it all on my own. Just as my little cousin will one day realize she needed my help today rowing, I am constantly realizing the times in my life when I couldn't do it on my own - where God guided me, even if he did it without me knowing. I am so lucky to have a God that cares about me - one that looks out for me, even when I don't think I need the help.
