I’ll be honest, the first time I heard this song (shortly after it was released) I didn’t like it very much. Or at all really. I mean...

Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree

What does that even mean?! I slowly got to the point where I liked it enough to sing along when I heard it on the radio. Then even more slowly got to the point where I love this song. I think this slow progression was because of the meaning of that above line. When it came out, I didn’t want anything to do with that line. Now, I realize that I need to be like that tree, bending to the will of God. Let God do what He wants with my life. That’s the true meaning of loving God and letting Him love me. And while sometimes, it’s easy to bend, other times, it’s not so easy. Dear God, help me to bend to Your will and Your love for me. Amen.
