Chris' prayer: Andy Cloninger's "O Gracious Light"

Now as we come to the setting of the sun
I'm sitting outside McAlister's on a beautiful afternoon/early evening waiting for my girlfriend to join me for dinner. The sun sits not much higher than the building it is hovering above, preparing to set. The days are getting shorter and shorter.

I wrote awhile ago that my faith tends to follow the seasons, or more accurately, the amount of daylight. I seem to be most spiritually filled when the days are long and I can spend more time outside enjoying the sun's rays. So as the sun sets earlier and earlier, and the days get shorter and shorter, I'm concerned about letting my spirituality follow that trend. I hope that I can remain close to God, trusting Him with this most important season in my life.
