Chris' prayer: Steven Curtis Chapman's "What Would I Say"

This song tells the story of the singer's grandfather, who struggled with alcoholism, a disease that tore his life and his family apart. Chapman here is singing what he would have said to his grandfather, and his first words are affirming, gracious, and forgiving, despite all the pain his grandfather has caused.

It makes me wonder how much of what I say is positive and uplifting. Are my words bringing people closer to Christ, or are they judgmental, hurtful, and ruthless? When are my words the most positive and when are they the most negative? Under what circumstances does that change? Why? I think I'll be paying especially close attention to what I'm saying this week.
