I think the idea of God raining down His Love resonates with me. When left to my own prayer, in the middle of a praise and worship session, I'll often pray for the Holy Spirit to rain down on me, or for God's grace to rain down on me, or for His peace to rain down.
It resonates so well because it is such an easy metaphor. I've been rained on hundreds of times in my life. Little misting rains that can hardly be called rains at all, to downpours that drench me within two seconds of being caught in them. I very much get being rained on.
And I like being rained on, too. It isn't something that bothers me much at all, and can actually be quite refreshing. So, to imagine God's Love, or grace, or peace, or Holy Spirit raining on me makes a lot of sense and helps me to feel each of those things welling up inside me.
