shine for all to see
Last night, at mass, we had an open discussion homily, as we do every Wednesday. We sit in circle for mass and after the readings, we are invited to share how God spoke to us through them. Yesterday's first reading was about God's incredible love. During the homily, we talked about living that love out and one of my friends said, "It's important to live the gospel, because if you don't, the words won't mean anything to the people you read them to." Another friend replied by saying that you have to not just apathetically live the Word, as in not do bad things, but go out of your way to be an example. God calls us, no matter what our circumstance, and He lists them in the Beatitudes, to shine for all to see. He wouldn't ask something of us that we couldn't do, and with His help and His word, shining is exactly what we will do for Him.
