Katie's prayer: Rich Mullins' "Creed"

Tonight’s song reminds me of a meeting I went to last Thursday. It was a meeting on the new translation of the Mass. That started in 2000 and will be implemented into churches everywhere about Advent 2011. I’ve told many people about it since then. I’ve gotten many reactions. From it’s the greatest thing to happen, ever! To it’s the worst thing that could ever happen. I’m kinda in the middle. The new translations make sense. Some of them, I like the wording better. There’s just one thing I don’t like. The creed, the glory to God, the confiteor, the response to “The Lord be with you,” and so many other things are changing. And I don’t have these new versions memorized. I’m going to have to re-memorize everything I’ve ever known! But after talking with someone about it yesterday, I learned something.... Maybe it’s for the best I don’t have these new versions memorized. Because with reading everything, instead of reciting from memory, I’ll be more conscience of what I’m saying, or rather praying. I won’t be able to tune out. It’ll be active participation. (At least until I have the new translations memorized). I’m kinda excited for the new translation to come out.
