Sometimes I am so amazed at how quiet people sing at Mass. Tonight, I attended the student Mass at UMKC. There were times when the only other person I heard in the room singing, was the person leading the singing. Granted, there were only like 15 people in the room. But I've experienced this during a packed Mass at both Churches I attend. Many people around me not singing, don't even have the books out to know what to sing. And the people that are singing, are singing so quiet, it's barely audible. It just doesn't make sense to me. "Singing is praying twice" -St. Augustine. So why wouldn't you want to sing? And sing loud enough for God to hear you! Lifting your voice to God! I guess I was spoiled by going to Life Teen Mass back home where I was surrounded by people who sang, and sang loudly, not worrying about how good they sounded.
