I guess we beg for hateI think I must have missed this line every time I'd heard this song before, because I did a double take when hearing it tonight. Did he just sing what I thought he did? But the more that I thought about it, the more I think the author is right.
One of the places you can find me on the internet is on my local newspaper's website forum. There, us St. Louisans can discuss anything from last nights game, to the big policy change, to the upcoming concert, to how to grill ribs. I generally like the place and find it entertaining to read and react to. Sometimes, however, I just can't bear to read it. The vileness that is posted there disgusts me. The things people say not only about third parties, but about the people they are directly interacting with, is sometimes too much. The place seems to be a place for people to spew hate, and do so as if it is a normal part of life.
Let it be said that it is not a normal part of life. That is not what the website forum was created for, and even more so, that is not what *we* were created for. We were created to love and to be loved. We were created to live with our brothers and sisters, arm in arm, and be there for each other when [their] spirit gets too weak.
