Chris' prayer: Cheer Up Charlie's "Love"

There is one word that is repeated twelve times in this song, and that word is almost as important as the title of this song. The word that I'm talking about is now. The song gives plenty of ways that I can love: by turning the other cheek, by sacrificing of ourselves, by saying a prayer, but it also tells me over and over again when I should love. Now. Always now. Love should not wait. Not until I'm ready, not until the other person is ready. Not until next week, tomorrow, or in an hour. Not when she's around, or when he's gone, or when I feel like it. I should love now.

This is a lesson I need to be reminded of especially right now. Work is not going all that great, and I'm finding it hard to love when I am there. Hopefully tomorrow, I can think back to tonight's prayer, and rely on that to help me through.
