Megan's prayer: Barlow Girl's "Mirror"

I'm finding it's not easy to be perfect

Last night was the first night of the newly-formed prayer group at St. Cletus. The main focus of the night was about our individual prayer lives, and the struggles we face in our prayer lives. Being the designated "leader" for the night, I went first and shared with all the teens and other CORE members the struggles I face daily in my prayer life. Sometimes I get distracted, other times I can't even form words that make up a coherent sentence. I made it very clear to them that I was not perfect.

As the rest of the group shared, we all found one thing we had in common - it's not easy to be perfect. We all faced struggles in our prayer lives.

I think this part of the night was very important. By showing our own weaknesses, by sharing our failures, it allowed others to share their own shortcomings. We were all able to admit to ourselves that we aren't perfect - that our prayer life could use a little "boost". That sometimes it's okay to need help from those around you.
