Katie's prayer: Veggie Tales' "I Must Have It"

What are you saying, that I shouldn't have whatever I want?
When I listen to this song, it's completely obvious King George is wrong. He's completely selfish and greedy. I'm so glad I'm not like King George. But, when I think about it more closely, I'm a lot more like King George than I would care to admit.
I can just picture this conversation going on with God being played by Louis and myself being played by King George. I want what I want and nothing else and if I don't get it I complain. Things I wanted before I suddenly changed my mind about. Although, unlike King George, what I want is not something material like a ducky, it's different things I want for my life, other people's opinions, how a day should go, things I can't actively control. But things God can. So instead of doing things myself that might affect all those things, I turn to God who I know can affect all those things and ask, correction tell, Him how things should go.
One of my favorite song lines of all time is "It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got." For some reason that lyric popped up a few times this past week, and then this song today. Once again, God is trying to send me a message. It's time to stop ordering God around and start appreciating the wonderful things in my life.
