Chris' prayer: Chris Tomlin's "Be Glorified"

I stand before you now with trembling hands lifted high
At the Steubenville conference I went to this past summer, one of the speakers talked about a quote he had once read. He said that the desire to please God pleases God. That we don't have to always succeed. We don't always have to be the perfect Christians. God is pleased at merely the effort, or even simpler, the desire to please Him.

That quote, I feel, is summed up in the line above. The desire is emphasized in the hands being lifted high, worshiping, praising, calling out to God. The imperfections– our fears, doubts, failures, weaknesses– signified by the trembling in our hands. Perhaps we're not sure why our hands our lifted, or maybe we're not sure what will happen if we give our lives to Him, or perhaps we just feel unworthy, or we're all to aware of our sinfulness. Whatever it is, whatever is making those hands tremble, it is important to remember that those hands are still lifted high.

And that pleases Him.
