Lord, I Love to sing Your Praises!
i am super acquainted with this song and proudly do the motions when we sing it in my parish. not to be a copy cat to chris....but i too, love singing! i love singing Christian music especially because its so full of passion! im getting exciting just thinking about it!! and it makes it simple for me to express my emotions when i sing. because singing doesn't have to be anything but feeling, and the majority of times, when i am praying all i can do is sing because i can't formulate any other communication. which is good i think, because, like they say, 'singing is praying twice!'. i remember once at one of my first XLT's ever, at a new church, i was singing really loud because i get super joyful during Adoration and am filled with all these songs that burst from my spirit and after it was over, a girl who has a very lovely voice said to me, 'erin i heard you singing and you are really good' and i was like, 'o...thanks, i didnt realize i was so loud. and what are you complimenting me for? ive heard you sing and you are amazing.' and she said to me, ' i dont know how i sing because im only doing it for Jesus so it doesn't matter if its good or not...i mean He gave me the voice'. and it was so wonderful it just inspired me to sing even more.

I'm embarrassed to say that I sing softer than I would like because I worry about what the people in front of me think of my voice. And I know I have a bad voice... I am off note and it's kind of scratchy.
I know I sing for Jesus and it shouldn't matter what people think... it's about the message and how much I praise Jesus.... but at the same time I don't want to 'ruin' the peoples experience in front of me. I've had loud bad singers behind me before and it not only throws my singing off more, it makes me lose focus.
Anyhow, it may seem silly, but I'm able to enjoy my worship service better by softly singing and thinking the words really loud in my head! I also think that not everyone is blessed with a great voice... or even a mediocre voice... everyone has their own special ways to praise Jesus and spread the good news.
If there are others like me with a bad voice... if you can keep a beat, I encourage you to try the bells, trumpet or other instruments to help you be able to participate more in musical ways to praise the Lord.
Then you definitely don't want to sit anywhere near me during a service. (: I'm loud, off-key, and sometimes I drum on the pews. I know that I'm not the greatest singer, but I find that I'm praising best when I'm singing at the top of my lungs.
Fortunately for all involved, there aren't too many people who *can* sit in front of me on the typical Sunday.
Well, hopefully most people don't mind... as with two little ones, we are always in the back most pews... with lots of people in front of us. :)
