Katie's prayer: Various Artists' "Jesus, Name Above All Names"

Today was one full day. I was gone from my apartment working for 12 hours. 9:30-9:30. When I got home tonight, I did some de-stress time (aka facebook, youtube, google reader, etc.). After a while, I came to the realization that it was getting late and I should be getting to bed, but I still continued with what I was doing. Then a little while later, it hit me that I hadn’t prayed today’s song yet. I put the song on and continued to de-stress. (Sometimes I like to just listen to it for a while and get familiar with it before trying to figure out what God’s trying to say to me.) Immediately, I became more and more aware of how tired I really was. I think it’s the nice melodic tune, kinda like a lullaby. I’d say after 5 times of listening to the song, I got up to get ready for bed. Tonight’s song helped me to do what I knew needed to be done (go to sleep) but what I couldn’t get myself to do on my own.

Dear Jesus, thank you for helping me realize how tired I am and how much I need sleep. Please watch over me as I sleep that I might rest in Your peace.
