Katie's prayer: Chris Rice's "Welcome to Our World"

This song was a little odd for me tonight. It’s essentially a Christmas song... the night before the triduum of Easter starts. A little odd to say the least. But I did like this one little bit. Cause even though he’s singing to Baby Jesus, he makes reference to the cross and the suffering (what I really should be meditating on at this time of year.)

Fragile finger sent to heal us

Tender brow prepared for thorn

Tiny heart whose blood will save us

For me, it’s so easy to separate Baby Jesus and Jesus who died on the cross. They’re almost two separate people in my mind. This song really helped me to connect them. Cause they are the same person. I really don’t know where to go from here with that thought.

Dear Jesus, thank You for coming into our world, and 33 years later, died on a cross to save me.
