Megan's prayer: Steven Curtis Chapman's "Remember Your Chains"

I couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking
Without even knowing what this song was really about, this first line stuck out to me. The "he" in the line, for me, was Jesus. It reminded me of the last verse of one of my favorite songs, "Questions" by Jon McLaughlin. The following is the last verse:
I came for your questions of what you don't know
But you can't see the answers unless I go
So give me your hatred and give your diseased
Give me your tired and I'll take them with me
Cause I'm hanging here losing every part of me
Just to open your eyes to what you would never see
And to answer your questions there's no place that I'd rather be
Often times, as the song says, I can't help but wonder what Jesus was thinking when he was dying for my sins. Was He upset about it? Was He mad at us for sinning? I had always wondered until I heard "Questions." God's love is SO overwhelming. He wants to take all of the bad from us. Jesus was so loving that he died for my sins.

God's love is what breaks us away from sin - what breaks us away from our "chains." As the last line in today's song says:
Remember your chains are gone
