Megan's prayer: dc Talk's "Like it, Love it, Need it"

Like it, love it, need it, don't leave it
This line stuck out to me in the song, because it reminded me of my attitude when it comes to shopping. Although I don't go shopping all that often, when I do, I tend to go a bit overboard. I'm able to rationalize purchasing just about anything. I go from the "like it" stage to the "don't leave (without) it" stage very quickly. I purchase things I don't really need. I'll find something online, and spend hours finding a store that carries it. I'm very resourceful and determined when it comes to finding something that I saw that I decided I "need."

I wish I was this way when it came to love. I wish I was resourceful and determined if I happen to come across someone who was having a bad day. I would like to say that I use all of my knowledge and my abilities to try to help, but I'm not sure if this is true. Why is it that I can put so much energy into shopping for things I don't really need, but when it comes to loving, sometimes I'm not loving enough to put forth the effort to really try and help make a difference.
