Katie's prayer: Jars of Clay's "He"

I have no lyrics to quote tonight, cause tonight it wasn’t the lyrics that really spoke to me, it was the laughter and the talking and happy screeching of the kids at the beginning and end of the song. Maybe it’s because tonight I had the chance to spend some time with the kids of our parishes at VBS. Most of my time there was spent with the younger group. There were about 6 Kindergarteners and 5 1st and 2nd graders. It’s been a while since I’ve been around kids that young. I’ve always felt, and reminded of tonight, that there is so much we can learn from young kids. They are so willing and eager to learn! They love to talk, they’ll talk to anyone! I didn’t know any of the kids before tonight, and they all talked to me, telling me stories, etc. They are so happy and carefree. I mean, you wouldn’t find many adults willing to do a similar entrance and ending of this song. They don’t really care what other people think about them. But the most important thing to learn from kids is their faith. Their super awesome, totally trusting, totally loving, child-like faith.
