What if I stumble?What if I fall?
The above questions were kinda like no brainers to me. What do you do when you stumble and fall? You get your butt back up and keep going. Duh. But sometimes it’s not always that easy. Tonight I saw 4 of the 10 teens we took to the leadership conference. Through our talking, I learned that some of them are already having trouble. Have already started stumbling in their faith walk. Some even started stumbling just an hour after getting back into the ‘real world.’ And they aren’t getting up so easy.
I’m sitting here and I’m starting to tear up, cause I know how that feels. I know how it is to stumble and fall and feel like you can’t get back up again. Like everything around you keeps pushing you back down. They are trying and trying to get back up and failing. And by looking at the 6 teens that didn’t show up - some of them might not even be trying to get back up. And it just hurts me that they are going through so much trouble. It was easy to be their ‘mom’ last week and protect them from things - but back here in the ‘real world,’ I can’t protect them as well.
My prayer tonight is for those 10 teens. Those 10 teens that totally opened up and allowed God to come in and affect them. Those 10 teens who may be flying high, but more likely are stumbling, and falling, and trying hard to get back up and failing. I pray they can get back up again.
