Their technology is beyond what I've seen anywhere
But I'm trying to communicate and they don't hear me
It seems like for all I'm finding
I can't find the most important thing
Two of my favorite things, two things that interest me a lot, are spirituality and technology. I have a real cerebral and a really spiritual interest in spirituality. I like learning about it in both ways. And anyone who has met me will tell you that I also love technology. I'm usually the first to have a new gadget and always have my eyes on the next big thing. In fact, as I sit here today in adoration, my likes are united- I sit here, in front of Jesus, praying using my iPhone.
I've often wondered about the use of technology to promote spirituality. I think that there is a line in there somewhere. Ideally, technology would always be able to draw us closer to God. For instance, having access to the Internet and music is allowing me to post this blog. But it doesn't always work out in the ideal. Technology has almost an unparalleled ability to distract us, to keep us from God. It can be very tough to, as this song says, remember the most important thing.
I hope that I am always able to stay on the right side of that line, using tech to enhance my relationship with God instead of inhibiting it.
