It's not a question of what You can do for me
But what can I do for You, my Lord?
Part of tonight's song reminds me of the quote "Ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country." I think that quote is so important because it challenges us to be less self-centered and more willing to help others make the world a better place.
Similar to our faith, we should not simply ask God for favors if we aren't giving back to him. There are plenty of things we can do for God - most importantly showing His love to each and every person we encounter. If each person was able to do that even 75% of the time, the world would be a much better place.
