It takes a little time sometime
In a world where we are driven by instant gratification, I find that people really have a hard time waiting for anything. I encounter this problem in myself and in those around me constantly during the day. My students can't seem to wait for snack time, or lunch, or music. I don't want to spend the time waiting till I'm near a computer to get my emails, so I got a phone which includes email. Friends don't want to wait till they are married to have sex. I don't want to have to wait for my faith life to get better and for me to feel more of God's love - I want that right now!
Sometimes the waiting changes us. The fact that "it takes a little time" for me to improve my faith life and to really work on listening to God makes the changes that much more meaningful. If it didn't require any hard work, the rewards wouldn't be so sweet.
I think this is a line I should remember each and every day. Maybe if I did, I wouldn't be impatient or stressed. I would be able to just sit back and realize that not everything can be changed in an instant.
