Katie's prayer: Steven Curtis Chapman's "Celebrate You"

Let me show you what a treasure you are
A priceless gift from heaven to this thankful heart
I have a list. It's not very long. Really rather short, one or two items. It's a list of people who, if I were not Christian, I just might murder. (I guess it's a good thing I'm Christian, it's better than jail.) One part of being a Christian in this case is really easy, the not killing part. There's that other part that seems to be more difficult, the love your enemies part. One of the people on this list has been particularly horrible to me (the most recent incident being yesterday). I thought that being civil while she complained to me, about me (more than once), was good enough. I filled my requirement for loving my enemy. But after listening to this song, I came to this realization. Loving is more than just tolerating. Loving is more than just being kind when they are being mean. Loving is more than seeming like you're trying to make them "happy." Rather, loving is showing someone how much a treasure they are in your life. Loving is being thankful for the gift of that person. Loving is letting that person know how thankful you are. Loving my enemy is going to take a lot more effort, and a lot more help from God.
