This song reminds me of the "Tidal Wave" ride at Six Flags. You know, the one where a boat gets pulled up a ramp, and then flies down the other side, creating a huge tidal wave and soaking some of the people in the boat. Afterwards, if you haven't had the opportunity to get soaked, you walk on top of a bridge that the car floats under directly after the tidal wave.
Standing on top of this bridge is the best part of the whole experience. You stand there, gripping the fence behind you, watching the boat slowly ascend the ramp, your heart rate accelerating. You watch it make that turn, and start to fall, picking up pace and heading for the water at the bottom, and your heart rate accelerates with the boat. When it hits, you're able to watch the ensuing tidal wave coming straight for you, and it almost seems like everything is in slow motion. Closer, closer, closer the wall of water comes, and faster, faster, faster your heart beats. Suddenly you're hit by the tidal wave. Water pours over every inch of you, soaking you from head to toe.
What a rush!
The rest of the day, you're reminded of that moment, being covered in water, because your clothes never dry, your shoes squish more water out of them with every step, and you feel the coolness of the wind against your wet skin. It stays with you.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what grace feels like.
