You intoxicate my being with the fragrance of your presence
My friends and I were supposed to get together for a Christmas party. But we couldn't decide on a date, so it became an Epiphany party. But we realized that our party was actually closer to the Baptism of our Lord than the Epiphany. So tonight, I got together with 11 of my friends for a celebration of the Baptism of our Lord. It was one of the best nights I experienced in a long time!
There was a lot this party had to offer. Great food, drinks, presents, dance party, games. But I think the reason I enjoyed it so much was because of the people. If all we did was sit around and talk, without all that other stuff, I still would have enjoyed myself just as much. I know this for a fact because that's really what we did half the night. I don't know, just reading the above lyric brought that to my mind. The best gift is your presence. And I just got another thought, bringing it back to my post two days ago. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to give to God. But like I just said, the best gift really is your presence. So being really and truly present at Mass and Adoration is what I can give to God when I feel I have nothing else to give.
